Appropriate development and population growth is faster then
the status of Jayapura regency formed into an administrative city. Then based

Jayapura Municipality territory geographically located in

Jayapura city name at first was Holland where the name given
by Captain Sachse on March 7, 1910. What Atri Holland: Hol = arch; bay land =
land, a place that many have bay.
Geography Jayapura City is similar to the northern coastline
of the Netherlands. Natural conditions squiggly Sache is what inspired the
Captain to spark the name Hollandia in Numbay real name. Numbay renamed to 4
times: Hollandia-Kotabaru-Sukarnopura - Jayapura, which is now used is

Topography is quite varied, ranging from plains to rolling
and hilly / mountain 700 meters above sea level. Jayapura city with an area of

PLACES TRAVEL / PANORAMA
MONUMENT Yos Sudarso
The monument was built to commemorate service in Commodore
Yos Sudarso who died in the battle against the Dutch at sea Arafuru 1962, in
the framework of western Irian liberation operation. The monument is located at
Imbi Park, downtown Jayapura.
MONOMUEN Pepera
Built to commemorate the Declaration of Act of Free Choice
(Choice), conducted in 1969, to determine the wishes of the people of Papua in
particular to join Indonesia Jayapura. The vote, conducted over six years after
the United Nations hand over Papua to Indonesia. This monument is located in
the APO (American Post Office), heading the first allied soldiers, 500 m from
downtown Jayapura to the north.
BAY YOUTEFA
A bay with a very beautiful panorama. The bay is very beautiful
indeed officially, but have special meaning in World War II, both in terms of
Japanese soldiers and Allied troops and the United States, because the location
is very strategic bay. On 19 April 1942 the Japanese army troops in the Gulf
Yotefa entry and landed in the PIM and Abe beach. With believes, that the
location is very strategic Hollanda, then anchored two Japanese warships and
marines in the Gulf Yotefa on May 6, 1942.
In this bay there are relics of the history of World War II
in the form of dead Japanese and Allied ship that sank, were at the beach Abe
built a memorial Landing Japanese soldiers. It turns out that this protected
bay makes Hollandia as the Japanese defense pedestal. Similarly, Japan's
Supplies in Hollandia ally recognized as the only center of the largest and

BEACH BASE G

Crocodile
Crocodile breeding area is located in the South of Jayapura
district area Entrop 5 km from the city of Jayapura. Entrop is the name of the

MONUMENT LANDING Allied
The landing of allied soldiers monument was erected to
commemorate the landing of Allied troops on 22 April 1944 10:00 am Beach
Hamadi. The landing operation is named Sandi Reckless under the command of
General Douglas MC assisted by Rear Admiral Arthur DE Barbey and Lt. Gen. R.L.
Einchelberger. General Douglas Arthur MC command based on the aircraft carrier
NAHSVILLE mobilized personnel from the 24th Infantry Division, to-32-41 and to
the United States, amounting to 55,000 people 37,500 people made up of combat
troops and 18,000 non-combat person with expertise in various fields,
especially techniques.
At 10.00am on 22 April 1994 General Douglas MC Arthur landed
on Hamadi beach. As a warning the landing of allied troops, at the foot of the
monument reads: "HERE THE ALLIED Forced Landed ON APRIL 22, 1944".
Hamadi Beach now there is a monument erected by the Royal Netherlands Army
(Land Koninkijke Macht) in 1955, before the handover of security duties over
West Irian to the Royal Dutch Navy (Koninkijke Zee Macht).
MUSEUM OF PAPUA PROVINCE
The area museums around 2.63 Ha. Papua museum was built in
1983 with the architectural style buildings Papua. The building contained the
main building is 850 m2 and 506 m2 library. The museum collection is largely
the ethnographic objects such as ritual supplies, traditional technologies,
